Steven Rinehart is a registered patent attorney licensed before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Steve obtained his Juris Doctorate from the U of U College of Law in 2003 and is a partner with Vested Law, PC.  He studied Computer Science, Naval Science and English as an undergraduate, graduating from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 2000. Before becoming a licensed attorney, Steve founded and sold several Internet companies, including eWatches.com and PrizeWise.com, which both grossed over $1 million in revenue during their first years in business.  Steven also founded theopticon.com, a free legal file exchange.

Steven has prepared and prosecuted over 250 patent applications and over 250 trademark applications.  Steven regularly files patent applications on mechanical, electrical and software inventions, with experience both writing and litigating these patents.  Steven has also handled nearly 200 UDRP domain name disputes. Steven regularly handles patent and trademark litigation in U.S. district courts, including in rem Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act (ACPA) actions in Virginia.  Steven is the only attorney in the world to solely own (and have gained approval as)  an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar (that registrar being Domain Train).  Steven has handled matters before the PTAB (Patent Trial and Appeal Board), U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and TTAB (Trademark Trial and Appeal Board) as well as over 150 lawsuits in state and federal courts, including patent and IP infringement matters in federal courts in Utah, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and California.  For a list of recent federal IP litigations cases Steve has handled click here.
